Project Description

Corpore-TTN

Emma Thomson is Head of IT at Corpore-TTN, one of the largest rehabilitation and injury management companies in the UK. They deliver an independent rehabilitation service and are a provider of impartial absence, injury and risk management.

The company works alongside insurers, solicitors, employers and healthcare professionals to maximise outcomes for absent and injured clients.

Emma says: “We are dealing with medical records, which represent some of the most highly confidential data around. So we absolutely cannot afford to set a foot wrong when it comes to compliance with Data Protection law.”

Tracey Wakelam of Probert Legal provides expert guidance to Corpore-TTN and Emma is finding the support invaluable.

She says: “Tracey Wakelam is a brilliant and extremely helpful addition to our team. I take the lead on date protection issues within the company and as I come from an IT background rather than a legal background, I really appreciate the way Tracey always describes what is required with crystal clarity and precision, in a way that makes it easy for me to understand.”

Emma continues: “We adhere to the Rehabilitation Code of Practice where cases involve a claim, which entails disclosing information to all relevant parties simultaneously. Sometimes this is not a standard situation and there are a ‘grey areas’ regarding the people to whom we can disclose information. Tracey has been adept at guiding us through these complex situations.

“Upon occasion, we have found ourselves in a situation where immediate legal advice is required. Tracey has been highly responsive and provided exactly what we needed in a timely manner. In fact, she excels at being extremely responsive to her clients, as well as being very thorough and precise.”

Emma adds: “Tracey’s flair for clarity was also brought to bear when she helped us streamline all our consent forms and data protection documentation. These were previously too wordy and not as explicit as they could be. With her advice, we have now improved these forms enormously, which is helping us provide a better service to our clients.”

Emma concludes: “Tracey Wakelam brings our company expert knowledge of data protection law, combined with a responsive, clear approach which means that she makes a big difference to us and helps Corpore-TTN stay at the forefront of our market.”
